Two Southern Downs residents in hospital after series of motorbike crashes

Emergency services have responded to two motorbike crashes less than a day apart, which left young men with injuries.

Two Southern Downs motorbike riders were hospitalised following a series of crashes while riding in region just 24 hours apart.

Both young male bike riders were flown by LifeFlight to Toowoomba Hospital across the weekend following accidents in the Downs.

On Saturday, the Toowoomba-based LifeFlight helicopter flown a young male who had crashed his bike.

Paramedics on scene suspected the teenager had broken his leg.

The next day, the chopper responded to another crash in the region, occurring at the same recreational park at 9am Sunday.

It is believed the male teen had been riding with friends when he lost control and crashed his bike.

The RACQ LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for back injuries and a broken arm.

He was then flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
