Three in custody after weekend of break-ins and car thefts across Warwick

Three alleged offenders are in custody after a busy weekend for police with a number of break-ins and car thefts, as well as drug matters, reported to local authorities. MORE DETAILS.

Several alleged offenders are in custody following a weekend of crime across the Southern Downs, with multiple unrelated incidents reported.

Warwick police had a rather busy weekend, with multiple break and enters, drug matters and car thefts responded across the Rose City towards the end of last week and into the weekend.

Trio nabbed after brazen daylight break and enter

Three alleged offenders, a 17-year-old man, a 17-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, are being held in custody in Toowoomba in relation to two break and enters from last week, as well as a handful of other matters.

The group was nabbed by officers after two offences on Friday - including the brazen daylight break and enter on a home in north Warwick, were the group allegedly broke into a home in Colwar Court, stealing a set of car keys.

Later, the offenders returned to the address and stole a White Subaru XV hatchback. This vehicle remains outstanding.

Later that day, the trio is believed by police to have broken into a property at Sladevale, breaking into an address and stealing garage remote control.

The trio will face Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Main Street rampage

A 60-year-old Warwick woman was given an infringement notice by police after she was reported entering a real estate business on Palmerin St and abusing staff.

Drug matters

• Last Thursday at about 7.20am, a 28-year-old Warwick male was detected driving on Kenilworth St. He was subsequently tested and found to have drugs in his system.

While at Warwick Police Station, he was also found with several tablets in his possession. He was issued with a Notice to Appear for Driving with a relevant drug in his system and possession of a dangerous drug and will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court at a later date.

• On Friday afternoon, a 32-year-old Leichhardt man was busted at a residence in Dragon St with a quantity of methamphetamine in his possession as well as several types of prescription medication which he did not have a prescription for.

He was subsequently charged with possession of dangerous drugs, prescription drugs and utensils, and was held in custody at the Warwick Watchhouse on these and other matters.
