A Warwick woman has been charged and police are on the hunt for a group of offenders after a string of petty crime busts over the weekend.

Officers are searching for a thief who smashed their way through the glass front doors of a Wood St business at about 4am on Monday, stealing a small quantity of cigarettes and associated items before fleeing the scene.

Warwick Police Sergeant Shane Reid said it was only hours later that a car stolen from a Warwick home over the weekend was found damaged and dumped on Allens Rd, Sladevale.

“That vehicle was recovered, however another vehicle was then stolen from a nearby address and reported to police,” he said.

The white Ford Falcon stolen from the Sladevale home is yet to be located.

Sergeant Reid said Warwick police also dealt with a range of drug-related offending within the same period, including a woman allegedly busted behind the wheel with a syringe stashed in her car.

Police made the discovery when they pulled over the 51-year-old and searched her vehicle on Kenilworth St at about 10.20pm Friday.

The Warwick woman was charged with possessing a drug utensil and is due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court in the coming weeks.

Officers then raided a Wood St home at about 2.30pm Saturday, where they busted a 51-year-old woman with a small amount of marijuana.

She was given a drug diversion.
