The region-wide search for a man urgently wanted for questioning in relation to a shocking public shooting in Warwick is yet to yield results for investigators, more than a week after the violent incident.

Police appealed for information on the whereabouts of Jackson Bruce Watson on Monday night, saying it was believed the 26-year-old Warwick man could assist their investigation into the shooting of fellow Warwick man Jason Martin.

The 37-year-old victim was allegedly shot in the stomach in broad daylight while standing on Wallace St last week, and was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital to undergo surgery on the life-threatening injury.

Mr Martin remained in a critical condition in the intensive care unit for several days, but has since reached a stable condition and been moved out of the ICU.

Detectives are still urging the public to help locate Mr Watson, who is known to frequent Warwick as well as Toowoomba, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast, but have warned residents not to approach him as he may be armed.
