Crime wrap: Man hospitalised following alleged assault, drug matters, traffic matters
A man has been hospitalised after a dispute allegedly turned into a physical assault at a Warwick address. Here’s what we know so far.

A Warwick resident has been hospitalised following an assault, one of many incidents keeping police busy over the Anzac Day public holiday and weekend.
Here’s what you missed in the past seven days.
ASSAULT
Police were called to a disturbance near Stewart Ave at about 11am on Thursday where a male person had allegedly assaulted another person.
This person was transported to the Warwick Hospital for further attention.
It is understood a 37-year-old Toowoomba man, who is known to police is alleged to be involved in the assault, with police preparing to charge the man.
Following the alleged assault, he was taken to Warwick Hospital and then Toowoomba Hospital for mental assessment.
Police have not charged the man over the alleged assault until he is assessed for mental health issues.
Police investigations in relation to this and other related offences are continuing.
DRUG MATTERS
On Thursday morning, police attended an address in Yarrawonga Street and spoke to a 41-year-old Warwick man.
He agreed to go to the Warwick Police Station where police then located an implement used to smoke a dangerous drug in the man’s pocket.
He will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court in June.
TRAFFIC MATTERS
• Police intercepted a vehicle on Bourke St at about 6pm on April 22, finding that the driver was not the holder of a driver’s licence. The 30-year-old Labrador male will appear in court in June.
• A 24-year-old Millmerran Woods woman was intercepted on the New England Highway, at Rosenthal Heights at about 2.30pm on Tuesday and was subjected to a saliva test. As a result, she will appear in court in June charged with driving with a relevant drug in her system.
• At about 4pm the same day, a single vehicle crash occurred when a Holden station wagon collided with a rail barrier on Dragon St.
The drive, a 50-year-old Killarney woman, was transported to Warwick Hospital for observation and was later issued an infringement notice for allegedly driving without due care and attention.
• Last Wednesday around 1am, police intercepted a Ford sedan being driven by a 19-year-old Warwick man on Cleary St. They found he was allegedly not the holder of a driver’s licence and will appear in court in May.
• Police intercepted a Mazda station wagon on Palmerin St at about 8pm on Saturday and breath tested a 26-year-old Warwick woman. As a result, she was further tested and allegedly returned a result of 0.081 BAC. She will appear in court in May for drink driving.
• Just after midnight on Sunday, a 30-year-old Warwick man was intercepted driving on Percy St and breath tested. He was then further tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.066 BAC. He will appear in court on a drink driving charge in May.
FRAUD
Police are continuing to receive reports of fraudulent activity on online selling platforms.
Residents are asked to do their due diligence when considering purchases on these types of platforms, especially when being asked to deposit money into unknown accounts.
