A 32-year-old man has died after a horror motorbike crash at a major sporting event in Warwick.
Paramedics were called to the scene at Morgan Park Raceway at 1.52pm on Friday, where the man had sustained critical injuries after coming off his motorcycle.
The racetrack was hosting the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland Endurance Event this weekend.
Tributes have flowed for Kyle Maher, the bright and talented man, tragically killed.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed on Saturday Mr Maher had died after the crash. Police were unable to say where the man was from but said his family had been notified.
“Police are investigating and will be putting together a report for the Coroner.’’
Workplace Health and Safety officers were also with Morgan Park officials and emergency services at the scene.
The Motorcycle Sports of Queensland posted a notice on its Facebook page after the tragedy.
“Due to an incident on track today at Morgan Park, the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld wish to advise that this weekend’s Event will not proceed.
“All entries for the weekend will be refunded through Ridernet in the coming days.
“As a club we would sincerely like to thank all competitors, officials, teams and volunteers for their ongoing support and understanding at this difficult time.”
It was the club’s last event for the year.
