Man hospitalised after truck rollover on New England Highway near Stanthorpe

The week has started on a low note for the driver of a truck that rolled over outside Stanthorpe on Monday.

It is believed the incident occurred near the intersection of the New England Highway and Wallangarra Rd outside Stanthorpe just before 7am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said when crews arrived just after 7am, they found the vehicle on its side.

Fortunately the driver was able to get himself out of the vehicle before emergency crews arrived.

Paramedics treated the driver who is said to have suffered a lower leg injury and was taken to Stanthorpe Hospital, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

It is unknown what caused the truck to leave the road.

Some traffic delays may be expected, drivers are advised to proceed with caution.
