Emergency services respond to allege arson of Tobacco Hut Albion St

CCTV may be the key to solving why a Warwick business had a fire started inside it in the middle of the night, as police investigations continue.

Police are investigating after a Warwick business was broken into before a fire deliberately lit inside the store.

Emergency services were called to a store at the intersection of Albion and Fitzroy streets on Thursday night, around 11pm.

A fire was started inside the shopfront of Tobacco Hut, with QFES being able to take control of the fire with limited damage.

Police believe the door to the store was smashed in, and with offenders entering the store and trying to light a fire inside.

Police will want to speak to two individuals wearing hoodies seen in the vicinity following the attack.

Detectives are currently examining CCTV in the area as two people of interest were seen in the same area caught on tape.

Local police and another retailer in the area on Monday morning confirmed Tobacco Hut was the store targeted by fire.

Investigations are continuing.
