Passengers can expect big delays on one of southeast Queensland’s busiest train lines after an emergency incident forced the line to shut in both directions.

TransLink advises the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines are suspended due to an emergency incident at Banoon station and passengers – including to Ferdy Grove and Brisbane Airport – can expect delays of up to 60 minutes.

Earlier, two people were hospitalised following a crash which blocked two roads in Mount Gravatt East.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Creek and Newnham Roads at Mount Gravatt East just after midday to reports of a two-car crash.

According to Queensland Traffic, the left lane of Newnham Road and the right lane of Wecker Road were blocked at the intersection, with traffic building. The crash site had cleared by 12.45pm and delays eased.

Paramedics assessed two patients from the crash with chest injuries, with both taken to the Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition.
