Man killed in horror Heathwood crash
A man has died after being entrapped in a vehicle that wrapped around a pole in a horror crash in Brisbane’s southwest.

A person has died in a horror road crash in Brisbane’s southwest.
It is understood that the driver, a man in his 30s, lost control of his blue Ford Falcon XR6 utility at the intersection of Johnson and Stapylton roads at Heathwood, before his vehicle wrapped around a pole at 3.30pm Monday.
It is believed the man was trapped in the vehicle.
Critical care paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to save the man, who died at the scene.
A police investigation is now underway, with officers urging witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage leading up to and including the crash to come forward.
The death comes the day after two men lost their lives in a crash that closed the Centenary Highway for several hours.
Elsewhere, a woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a two-vehicle crash at Kalbar, west of Beaudesert.
The accident happened on the Cunningham Highway about 3.50pm Monday, with the occupants of one vehicle managing to get themselves out, one taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 60s, was trapped in their vehicle for some time before being freed.
She has been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious condition with critical care paramedics on board.
