Suspicious blaze destroys home at Main Street, Beenleigh

Detectives are investigating whether someothing was thrown into a home south of Brisbane before the property erupted in flames.

Detectives are investigating whether someothing was thrown into a home south of Brisbane before the property erupted in flames.

A crime scene has been declared after emergency services rushed to a house fire in Beenleigh overnight.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said four crews were called to Main St after reports of a house on fire about 10.30pm.

The fire was quickly extinguished and crews left the scene at 11.45pm.

Both the police and fire department said the occupants of the house were uninjured and all accounted for.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the fire was regarded as suspicious and a crime scene had been declared.

Detectives remain on the scene on Wednesday morning, with police confirming police are investigating whether something was thrown into the home before the fire started.

Both QFD and QPS investigation units would return to the scene this morning.

Police are appealing to witnesses with any relevant video footage to come forward.
