A SUNSHINE Coast property dubbed the Flintstone's house has been listed for sale.
Ian McCall built the stone cottage in Highlands Rd, Eudlo, almost entirely by hand on a 3.98ha property that became his family's very own Bedrock.
Mr McCall's old-fashioned building style saw neighbours nickname him Fred Flintstone, according to real estate site domain.com.au.
He started building the home in 1991 and worked from "sunrise to sunset" while living in an old caravan.
Mr McCall had five 10-tonne truckloads of quarry rock delivered from Nambour and logs were used to form the cottage's foundation.
The finished product is a five-bedroom, three-bathroom home that is selling for $647,000.
While the family is looking to downsize, Mr McCall said with "every bit of heart and soul" having gone into the place, "we will truly miss it".
"You often come across traditional properties which owner-builders have built themselves, but not something like this," McGrath Buderim agent Shaun Hammill told Domain.
"It feels very rustic with an old fireplace, stone wall and timber beams. It's not a massive house, and it's not for everyone, but it's perfect for those looking for more than a house, because it's a home."
