Woman in Sunshine Coast hospital after Forest Glen backyard fire

Paramedics have rushed to a Sunshine Coast home amid reports a woman has suffered significant facial burns in a backyard garden fire.

A woman has been rushed to a Sunshine Coast hospital suffering significant facial burns in a backyard garden fire.

Paramedics rushed to a home in Forest Glen about 8.20am today, following an initial report an adult woman had been burnt.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman was transported in a serious condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Witnesses reported she was in her 50s.

A QFES spokesman said one crew was sent to the Old Maroochydore Rd backyard fire after reports of palm tree branches being on fire.

He said they were there until 8.50am.

The woman remains at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
