Four sunflowers have been laid on a fence post beside a rural road in Cooran in a tribute to a teenager killed in an accident on Saturday night.
The 17-year-old boy was unable to be saved despite the best efforts of first responders including paramedics at Greenridge Pinbarren Road.
It is understood the boy had been riding a Suzuki motorbike which collided with a Subaru Forrester station wagon heading in the opposite direction about 9pm.
The boy died at the scene and the rural road was closed to traffic for several hours.
Motorist Emma Skea, who had been driving along the road after the crash, described it as a “terrible tragedy”.
Sunflowers were laid on the fence post nearby tire marks and shattered glass on Monday.
Other locals, who did not wish to be identified, said they felt for the boy’s family.
The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for anyone with dashcam vision or further information to contact police.
The 29-year-old man who was the driver of the Forrester was not injured.
