Sunshine Coast traffic: Buddina man dies, road closed after serious crash at Nicklin Way in Wurtulla
A young Sunshine Coast man has died after being trapped in the wreckage of a serious two-vehicle crash on Nicklin Way at Wurtulla.

A young man has died after he suffered significant injuries in a two-vehicle crash at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
Emergency crews were called to the Nicklin Way scene, near the intersection of Moondara Drive, shortly after 6am on Wednesday.
Preliminary information suggests a ute was travelling along the major road when it collided with a sedan.
The driver of the sedan, a 23-year-old Buddina man, was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital however died upon arrival.
The 41-year-old driver of the ute suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Police blocked southbound traffic from the Lake Kawana intersection.
Nicklin Way has now reopened but major delays were reported as emergency crews worked to clear the two cars involved.
An eye witness said he saw crews had taken about an hour and a half to free the 23-year-old man from the wreckage.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was initially trapped before being freed.
The Friendly Grocer worker, who asked not to be named, said he didn’t see the crash because he was stuck in long line of traffic on his way to work after incident happened.
He said in his eight months of working at the convenience store he’d never seen a crash or traffic incident on the busy intersection.
Traffic heading northbound was stopped intermittently throughout the morning to allow the crash investigation unit to put up a drone to inspect the sight from the air.
Officers were observed to be analysing the crash scene and the direction each car was travelling before impact.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
A second crash on Nicklin Way was also reported on Wednesday morning at Currimundi which left one person in hospital.
