Suncoast Christian College students danced everything from a waltz to a cha-cha after celebrating their graduation in style at their formal on Saturday.
Students gathered at Caloundra Events Centre to celebrate the end of their secondary schooling while dressed to the nines.
Highlights of the evening included the performance of a song written by one of the students highlighting the memories of their schooling and the need for graduates to ‘grow up’.
The Sunshine Coast Daily was there to capture the red carpet arrivals, while there plenty of photos taken at La Balsa Park at Buddina before the group of graduates headed in stretch limos to sports cars to the gala night.
More than 20 students were honoured as Suncoast Lifers among the huge contingent of graduates who were told to emulate the life of Christ by seeking to serve others first to mark their mark.
Earlier on Friday, there were emotional scenes at students across the college formed a guard of honour for the graduating class.
Students then joined others from colleges across the Coast in hitting Mooloolaba Beach.
The 900-strong college, which has been educating students for more than 40 years, is currently undergoing an expansion with construction underway on a $17m primary school building.
The architects behind the Stockman’s Hall of Fame revamp will combine with the builders of a flagship Mercedes Benz dealership to create the new iconic building.
The three level building moves away from the idea of traditional classrooms to create collaborative spaces where teachers and students from different classes can work together, while also offering spaces where class groups can meet.
