A successful Noosa-based hospitality duo has officially unveiled their latest project, promising to deliver a “mindful” Cantonese-inspired menu set to transport diners to Hong Kong.

Sabrosa Dim Sum House is the latest venue by restaurateurs Nathan Ramsay and Shane Newton, who also operate the popular Somedays Pizza in Noosa Junction and Mariella Mexicantina in Peregian Beach.

The new Cantonese-inspired restaurant, which opened earlier this month, offers up a delicious selection of small-plate dishes including dim sum and oysters.

Mr Ramsay said it was through the operation of the other two venues he saw a gap in the Noosa food scene and the perfect location to start up Sabrosa followed at 26 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads.

“It has high ceilings and a little outdoor courtyard, so it is very Melbourne basement and laneway type vibes,” Mr Ramsay said.

“So from that we just followed the same processes from the other restaurants but just doing things a little bit differently.”

Mr Ramsay said Sabrosa encompassed what contemporary diners were looking for in a venue.

“We are following sustainability practices, using organic and biodynamic produce and wines and just not skimping on quality,” Mr Ramsay said.

“We are putting out a very healthy and mindful menu.

“It really feels like you are in Hong Kong or somewhere like that eating dim sums.”

The venue at 26 Sunshine Beach Rd features a vinyl booth with DJs selecting until late on Friday and Saturday nights.

Patrons can also rely on Sabrosa’s cocktail menu and wine list to be as popular and trustworthy as those in the sister venues.

Sabrosa replaces the former bar Nudge Nudge Wink Wink, which opened during the Covid pandemic.

The venue, which was known for its $101 signature cocktail, failed to reopen after telling patrons on social media they were closing for renovations in 2023.

Sabrosa will also feature a vinyl booth with DJs selecting until late on both Friday and Saturday.
