Sam Peter Eyles in court for driving uninsured, unregistered vehicle

A Sunshine Coast YouTube and social media star has been fined in court for multiple driving charges.

A Sunshine Coast YouTuber and social media star has been fined in court for multiple driving charges.

Sam Peter Eyles, who has more than 187,000 Instagram followers and 252,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel Built Not Bought, faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, April 22.

He pleaded guilty to driving an uninsured vehicle, driving or parking a defective vehicle on the road, using a car with number plates recorded as cancelled and driving an unregistered vehicle.

All charges were from April 5, 2023 and Eyles represented himself.

The court was told Eyles was supposed to attend court earlier for these charges, but sent an email to the court saying he was told he did not need to attend. Magistrate Rod Madsen said the matter had been dealt with in his absence.

Eyles told the court the unregistered vehicle involved in the matter had since been sold.

Eyles was fined $1286 for all offences.

Convictions were recorded.
