Light pole knocked over by car in Mill St, Nambour

Emergency crews have rushed to a crash on a busy Sunshine Coast street, with some claiming the car was new.

A car has crashed into a light pole in Nambour this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Mill Lane and Bury Street at 1:35pm.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the pole was “completely taken out” by the car.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics tended to a man driver in his 60s, the sole occupant, who was uninjured.

Energex was also called to the crash

Commenters on social media shared photos of the scene, saying the car was brand new and “had only been bought three hours ago.”
