New owners of the last remaining Seaview Tce beachfront block have revealed the stunning home they want to build on the prestigious street.

A development application has been lodged with Noosa Council for a four-bedroom home at 66 Seaview Tce which was purchased by Gavin and Catherine Deane earlier this year.

The couple outbid more than a dozen opponents in a competitive auction for the block in May which resulted in a $7.7m sale.

At the time the street already had a number of high-profile homeowners including Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic and Kevin Rudd and his wife Therese Rein.

Tennis champion Pat Rafter has also previously called the Sunshine Beach street home.

The Deanes enlisted award-winning Newstead firm Shaun Lockyer Architects to design the property.

The application states it will feature a mix of “off-form concrete, vertical and horizontal timber, glazing and natural stone cladding” with the home designed to take in views of the beach.

“A mix of material are proposed which provides a lightweight look and feel while being robust to the coastal elements,” the application said.

While the home would be three storeys – above the two storeys recommended in the planning scheme – it would not be more than eight metres in height.

It said the third storey was needed because of the constraints of the coastal building lines.

The property is set back 10.5m due to the coastal restraints, leaving the owners with about 159sq m to build on.

The application said from the beach, street and adjoining walkway it would appear to have two storeys.

Noosa Council development assessment manager Kerri Coyle said the application was for a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with a swimming pool, gym and rooftop terrace.

“The proposal is for a contemporary, architect-designed (home),” she said.

“The application material includes a Coastal Hazard Assessment and a Geotechnical Report which have been submitted in response to the risk of short- and long-term erosion.”

The application was lodged early December and is yet to gain council approval.
