A Sippy Downs man has been arrested for an alleged armed robbery with a hammer in Woombye.
Police will allege the 30-year-old man had brandished a large hammer and threatened other motorists along Nambour Connection Rd about 2.30pm on August 8, 2022.
It’s alleged by police the man then robbed another motorist for a sum of cash before escaping in another vehicle.
Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch detectives located the Sippy Downs man at a Gympie home on Thursday August 11, 2022 where he was arrested.
He has been charged with going armed to cause fear, armed robbery and serious assault of a person over 60.
The man was due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on Friday August 11, 2022.
Video obtained by the Sunshine Coast Daily depicts the run-in next to the roundabout near the Bruce Hwy and Maroochydore Rd.
In the footage one man can be seen outside his vehicle allegedly brandishing a hammer while yelling at another driver.
