Noosa Heads Ambulance station officer in charge Annette Morris said the woman was taking a photo when she fell from the rocks. She could not confirm if this was a selfie.

“I believe she was taking a photo on a very slippery and what is a bigger slope on the rocks,” she said.

Ms Morris said the area was “very slippery” after recent rain, and this incident was a reminder to be safe while walking in the national park.

“You really should be walking with a mate, especially in the national parks and on the cliff faces,” she said.

The family of the victim, who were also at the scene, declined to comment.
