Tiarna Jade Collins appears in court after Caloundra West drug raid

A Sunshine Coast woman who was caught up in a targeted police raid where handguns and meth were seized has appeared in court from custody. More here.

A Beerwah woman arrested during a Caloundra West drug raid has had her matters mentioned in court while in custody.

Police will allege Tiarna Jade Collins, 27, was arrested at a Rawson St home when officers from Sunshine Coast Tactical Crime Squad seized a variety of weapons, drugs and cash on June 30, 2022.

The Beerwah woman faces 15 criminal charges stemming from that arrest including four counts of possessing weapons, four of possessing drugs, and two contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

Ms Collins had allegedly arrived at the address with her co-accused in a white Isuzu MUX.

The co-accused allegedly discarded a bag while running from police that contained a loaded handgun, a knife and almost $35,000 in cash.

Court documents stated drugs, firearms and ammunition were also allegedly found.

The total value of the firearms was estimated to be approximately $120,000 and about 50g of meth allegedly found was estimated to have a total street value of $20,000.

Court documents stated that police believed a supply occurred between Ms Collins and two co-accused.

Some of Ms Collins’ charges involve the possession of methamphetamine and prescription drugs on the day of the raid, as well as failing to allow police to access her mobile phone.

She was initially denied bail on July 1, 2022 and appeared again in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday September 16, 2022.

Ms Collins appeared by videolink from remand and had her matter adjourned to October 7, 2022.

Her co-accused will face court at a later date and both remain in custody.
