A fire investigator has revealed the cause of a fire in a Caloundra West home to be a battery pack charging in a garage.

Three people escaped a Verde Circuit home as firefighters battled the garage blaze early Tuesday.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said two fire crews were called to the fire, with the first crew arriving at Verde Circuit just before 5am on Tuesday, April 11.

She said when firefighters arrived smoke “was issuing” from the dwelling and the blaze was isolated to the garage.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were on scene but the three occupants of the home declined treatment.

A fire investigator found the cause of the blaze was a lithium ion battery pack that was charging in the garage.
