Sunshine Coast crashes: Truck and car collide, Ute crashes outside complex at Bli Bli

One person is in hospital after a truck and car collided on the Bruce Hwy, hours after another dramatic incident where a car crashed outside a shopping village. See the pictures.

One person has been taken to hospital after a truck and car collided and a truck rolled on the Bruce Hwy at Kiel Mountain on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Kiel Mountain Rd overpass about 2.30pm to reports of a two vehicle crash.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a small truck carrying glass and a car had collided and the truck had rolled down an embankment.

The southbound lane of Kiel Mountain Rd was completely blocked, the spokeswoman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one person was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with an arm injury. Another person declined transport to hospital.

It comes after a driver walked away uninjured following a crash outside a popular shopping centre in Bli Bli on Thursday morning.

Police were called to a crash outside the Bli Bli Village Town Centre, about 10.35am.

A ute crashed into a fence outside the complex close to the soon-to-be opened Bli Bli Hotel.

Director of Maeva Hospitality – who manages the Bli Bli Hotel – Scott Armstrong said the driver was reversing when the car hit one of the skip bins and then hit a retaining wall.

The crash has not affected the opening of the venue for Monday, October 30.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said there were no injuries following the crash.
