Sunshine Coast alleged fighting video: Police call for witnesses

Videos have emerged online of an underground fight culture between Sunshine Coast teenagers where alleged bashings take place in broad daylight. WATCH THE VIDEO.

Footage has emerged online of several alleged bashings on the Sunshine Coast where teenage girls have been intimidating and punching other children.

In exclusive videos obtained by the Sunshine Coast Daily, several girls can be seen allegedly starting fights and punching other teens in the head while bystanders watch and jeer.

The fights can be seen taking place from dates ranging June to September 2022 at the Big Top Shopping Centre, the Sunshine Plaza bus stop and in Sippy Downs.

In videos at the Big Top Shopping Centre and Sunshine Plaza bus stop, concerned adults can be seen trying to step in and stop the alleged fights.

Audio from the videos, which the Sunshine Coast Daily has chosen not to include, contain allegedly threatening remarks.

Footage has emerged on social media of several alleged teenage bashings on the Sunshine Coast.

“Do you want it the easy way, or the f-----g hard way,” a girl said to her alleged victim at the Big Top Shopping Centre.

In all videos the girls being allegedly accosted try to not retaliate as blows are rained down upon them.

Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit officer-in-charge Grant Gleeson said police encourage anyone that was a victim of one of these alleged assaults to make a formal complaint.

“These will be investigated thoroughly by the Child Protection Investigation Unit,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Gleeson said.

“We would also encourage members of the public who witnessed these incidents to contact police while it’s occurring so we can act appropriately in time.”
