Seven people including a baby have been saved with life-changing organ donations from Buderim teenager Saxony Walker after she tragically died earlier this month.

The Immanuel Lutheran College student was remembered as a young lady who “loved to love” in a touching service held on Friday afternoon.

Hundreds lined the Gregson and Weight chapel to celebrate the life of the beloved 15-year-old as her family and friends retold stories of her love and compassion.

Her mother Carley Walker remembered her 15-year-old daughter a “fiercely capable person” who could do everything from climbing a mountain to performing blazing tackles down the sideline.

Mrs Walker said Saxony embraced each adventure along the way with a vengeance and was always “all in”, and loved every minute of it.

“She loved to love and to throw her head back and laugh her head off, and we loved seeing it happen,” she said.

Saxony was babysitting on the afternoon on November 7 when she tragically fell into a pool after suffering a suspected medical episode.

Her father Nic expressed his gratefulness to Queensland Health from the paramedics who restarted her heart to the nurses who cared for Saxony while she was in a coma at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

He thanked Saxony’s brother Tasman for his heroic efforts after he pulled his sister from the pool and gave her the best chance of survival.

“You’re our little hero mate,” he said.

Saxony’s mother said it was comforting that her daughter’s heart was “beating somewhere out there” as her organs were donated to seven people following her death.

Mrs Walker said half of her liver was donated to save a baby’s life, with Saxony asking her mum to register her as an organ donor before her death.

A video of Saxony singing was played at the end of the service which her dad said was a “true reflection of her spirit”.

“Sax I love you so much … you’ll always be a part of me,” he said.

“Just remember to always run hard, tackle low, and to always have fun.”

Tributes have flowed in the weeks since her passing as her school and sporting communities come to grips with her death.

The Maroochydore Swans Rugby Union Club penned a touching tribute to their teammate, remembering Saxony as a player whose happiness beamed through her “contagious smile”.

Immanuel Lutheran College principal Colin Minke described Saxony as a “wonderful and involved young person” who left a real legacy at the school.

The Walker family had moved to the Sunshine Coast in mid-2015 after selling their Rio Station farm in Longreach.

The 1200km lifestyle switch came after many years of hardship battling the droughts of the west.

Saxony grew up in Longreach and was raised on the farm tending to some 3000 sheep, orphaned joeys and even a visit from the royal family.

She leaves behind parents Nic and Carley Walker and siblings Elsa and Tasman.
