Palmwoods disturbance: Man in custody, rushed to hospital after police called to Rick’s Garage
Police and paramedics have rushed to a popular Hinterland venue after receiving reports of a disturbance.

A man has been taken into custody and rushed to hospital after a disturbance at the main strip in Palmwoods on Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses reported seeing six police cars, the dog squad and an ambulance outside iconic Hinterland venue Rick’s Garage.
Police confirmed officers were called to a licenced venue at 1.50pm and remained in attendance close to 4pm.
“We have one man in custody, possibly with mental health issues,” a police spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said no one was injured in the incident.
Paramedics also attended the scene at Margaret Street at 2.41pm.
An Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were assessing a male patient.
“He has been transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital,” she said.
