A 31-year-old woman has been killed after the SUV she was driving veered off the Wide Bay Highway, crashed into a tree and exploded into flames.
The crash occurred about 2.20am Saturday at Kilkivan, west of Gympie.
Police say early investigations indicate the silver coloured SUV failed to navigated a bend in the road before crashing into the tree.
The Sexton woman died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses, or anyone with more information on the incident, to contact them.
