A 54-year-old man has been charged over a serious crash that killed an elderly motorcyclist in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The two-vehicle traffic crash happened at the intersection of Hunsley and Obi Obi roads, Kidaman Creek, just before 3pm on Thursday, April 10.
Police said a motorbike collided with a Holden Colorado, causing the motorcyclist, a 70-year-old Palmwoods man, to die at the scene.
The Holden driver, a 54-year-old New South Wales man, was not injured and has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
The man is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 13.
The crash came just hours after a serious motorcycle crash in Maroochydore as a motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
The accident happened at the intersection of Anzac Ave and Ball St about 10.30am when the 40-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson collided with a Mazda CX-3.
He was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both crashes were continuing.
