Emergency services have rushed to a serious crash in Nambour where a car has driven through a guard rail and crashed several metres off a bridge into a creek bank.
Police, paramedics and fireys were tasked to the single-vehicle crash along Hospital Rd and Florence St about 1.20pm Tuesday, September 13, 2022 to reports a car had driven off of a bridge.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a woman in her 50s was treated by critical care paramedics for a head injury and was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Initial investigations by police say the woman had overcorrected while driving over the bridge and had driven through a guard rail.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the car fell between 10m-12m and landed on its roof.
The spokesman said a woman was freed from her vehicle and treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances around the crash.
