A Coolum Beach resident has described a crash that left a motorcyclist in a serious condition after his bike collided with a teenage girl’s car.
Critical care paramedics rushed to help the man after the vehicles collided at the intersection of Central Ave and Yandina Coolum Rd in Coolum Beach about 7.30pm on Sunday September 11, 2022.

A 33-year-old Coolum Beach man suffered a severe head injury and suspected fractures and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
He was later transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Coolum Beach resident Peter Cooper, 73, lives near the intersection and said what first drew his attention to the crash was the flashing lights from the emergency services vehicles.
“I looked out across to the right side of the lights and I saw somebody lying on the road,” he said.
He said police blocked off the road and more police vehicles arrived following the crash.
The resident said the traffic did not bother him but sometimes it was difficult to turn into his driveway from Yandina Coolum Rd.
“Getting back in can be a bit dicey when you’ve got all the traffic behind you,” Mr Cooper said.
The driver of the car, a 17-year-old Yaroomba girl, was not injured in the crash.
The Forensic Crash unit is investigating.
