A Caboolture man’s wild ride in a Mooloolaba hotel while half-naked came to a dramatic end after he crashed it and was arrested by police.
Patrons at the Mantra Hotel Mooloolaba were subjected to Luke John Walsh’s half-naked body about 4.30pm on December 4.
Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard the 40-year-old Caboolture man was seen by guests riding his bicycle inside the main entrance in his underpants.
Police prosecutor Lee Allen said it appeared Walsh was heavily under the influence of a substance and had been disruptive.
Walsh came tumbling down off his bike and hit his head on the ground before he continued his erratic and unpredictable behaviour.
The court heard Walsh began to swing the bicycle at people and threatened to fight them while half-naked.
Police were eventually called after Walsh refused to leave and he was arrested.
Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist said Walsh “got around” as he had serious matters to be heard in Wynnum Magistrates Court in 2022.
The court heard the 40-year-old Caboolture man had been on two suspended sentences of two months and 14 days during the nude ride.
Walsh pleaded guilty to public nuisance and was sentenced to three months’ jail, with his suspended sentence activated.
He was then given immediate parole.
Convictions were recorded.
