Little Mountain crash: Bells Creek Arterial Rd, Caloundra Rd affected

Peak-hour traffic is crawling along major roads near Caloundra after a serious car and motorbike crash which left a young man in hospital.

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition and peak-hour traffic is crawling after a car and motorcycle collided near Caloundra on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Bells Creek Arterial Rd and Caloundra Rd at Little Mountain about 3.15pm on Monday afternoon to reports of the crash.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the motorcycle rider, a man in his late 20s, was assessed at the scene and taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with significant abrasions and a possible head injury.

She said the driver of the car declined transport to hospital.

Road closures were in place for more than an hour.

As of 5.15pm traffic was moving but very slowly.

It comes after one lane of the Bruce Hwy southbound at Coochin Creek was closed for hours on Monday after a Jeep towing a trailer jackknifed.
