Cheryl Ann Metcalfe slams 17-year-old girl into fridge

An ongoing feud between a 43-year-old Tewantin woman and a 17-year-old girl became physical after several drinks when the woman slammed the teen into a fridge.

Multiple assaults, wilful damage in Noosa Heads

A 43-year-old Tewantin woman who pinned a 17-year-old girl against a fridge during a feud was also found passed out trespassing inside someone’s home.

It took more than two years for Cheryl Ann Metcalfe to be sentenced for the common assault of a 17-year-old woman at a Tewantin home.

Police prosecutor James Allen said the 43-year-old nursery worker had been drinking on November 4 2019 when she became aggressive to the 17-year-old girl.

Noosa Magistrates Court heard Metcalfe began to intimidate the teenager by yelling at her and grabbed her wrist before a tussle ensued.

She then slammed the 17-year-old into the fridge while hurling a torrent of abuse at her.

The court heard Metcalfe breached a bail condition November 5 2019 that she had to be of good behaviour to the victim.

Metcalfe’s breach included several remarks like the victim had “some good sweet karma coming” and the 43-year-old needed to “see [her] burn”.

Nearly two years later Metcalfe was then found passed out drunk in a Verrierdale home on July 28, 2021.

The male homeowner found several opened bottles of red wine when he walked in and found Metcalfe asleep in a bed.

Mr Allen said Metcalfe wasn’t given permission to enter the home of the person who was a family friend.

The 43-year-old told police she had visited the property to pick up her car and had fallen asleep while waiting for her ride to pick her up.

Metcalfe pleaded guilty to common assault, trespassing and breaching bail and was fined $800.

No convictions were recorded.
