A Sunshine Coast teenager driving while drunk and on MDMA has faced court after ploughing a ute through a block wall and into a pool in an elite beachside suburb.

A glamorous 18-year-old Cooran teen has faced court after crashing her car into a pool while drunk and on party drugs causing six-figure damage to a beachside unit block.
Sunshine Beach apartment residents on Park Cres were awakened by a crash about 3.30am on October 17 after Makayla Kate Matt-West ploughed her car through a block wall and into their pool.
Noosa Magistrates Court heard Matt-West had been drinking in Noosa Heads and was on her way home before the accident.
Police prosecutor James Allen said the 18-year-old mounted the gutter and crashed head on into a concrete besser block wall and into the pool.
Her car was found submerged and had to be towed out.
The court heard the force of the impact led to Matt-West being taken to hospital.
Mr Allen said it was estimated she caused $100,000 in damages to the apartment complex and water main supply.
Blood tests from the 18-year-old Cooran woman showed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.118 per cent along with traces of MDMA and MDA.
She was not charged with driving with drugs in her system.
Matt-West represented herself and said she lost all insurance on her car from the crash.
The teenager pleaded guilty to drink driving and was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for six months.
No conviction was recorded.
