A home invader left the victim distressed and terrified after he was punched in the eye and robbed by a former business owner.

Blayze James Noble, 31, appeared in Maroochydore District Court and was sentenced for 15 offences.

He previously entered a guilty plea.

Judge Michael Byrne told the court the offences occurred between September, 2022 and March, 2023, including two robberies against a man known to him.

On both occasions Noble had been with an unknown co-offender, and used violence during the second robbery.

Judge Byrne said after Noble’s companion had threatened to bash the victim, Noble punched him in the right eye, then stole various items including cigarettes, cash, an Xbox and a security camera.

Crown prosecutor Nicola Hamilton said the incident had been “distressing and terrifying” for the victim who has increased anxiety after the intrusion into his home.

Defence barrister David Crews said his client was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2009 and had been off his medication during the period of the offences.

Mr Crews did not have any medical documents to show the court.

He also told the court Noble had been in a car crash and suffered a brain injury when he was about 20 years old.

The court heard Noble had completed a spray painting apprenticeship and completed a Diploma in Information Technology before going on to run his own business for six years.

Judge Byrne sentenced him to four years and one month of imprisonment with an immediate parole eligibility date and declared 420 days of pre-sentence custody as time served.

Noble has been convicted of four counts of entering a dwelling, one of robbery whilst armed, in company and using violence, one of stealing a car, one of contravening police direction, one of driving an uninsured vehicle, one of driving without a licence, one of failing to dispose of a syringe, one of failing to appear in court, one of driving whilst a drug is present in his system, one of possessing property used in connection of a drug offence and two of possessing drugs.
