A Sunshine Coast business that employed two allegedly “patched” Rebels bikies has responded following their gang squad arrests.

Nicholas William Pozzebon, 27, and Nathan Peter John Dyson, 30, both of Kiels Mountain, are currently behind bars on remand following their alleged involvement with Matthew James McKenzie, 38, who are accused of a car chase and bashing in broad daylight at a Palmview housing estate.

All three men were arrested and refused bail on charges of grievous bodily harm (serious organised crime), operating a vehicle dangerously and endangering the safety of a person in a vehicle with intent.

Dyson faces an additional charge of contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

Court documents before Maroochydore Magistrates Court last week state that police allege McKenzie was an “associate” of the Rebels while Pozzebon and Dyson were “patched” members.

In bail objection documents, police say Pozzebon was the owner of All Fixed Diesels, a heavy machinery mechanic based in Bells Creek, while Dyson also worked at the business.

Court documents state Dyson was found at the business and arrested about 9am on September 26.

Police allege in court documents Pozzebon allegedly shows his Rebels OMCG membership “with pride” and “flaunts” the bikie legislation.

Police further allege Pozzebon was observed at a recent traffic intercept wearing his Rebels OMCG colours in public on full display.

During a search warrant at Pozzebon’s Kiels Mountain home, court documents state a large amount of Rebels OMCG shirts, memorabilia and Harley Davidson motorcycles branded in the club’s name were allegedly found, along with logos including their one per cent symbol.

“The very premise of being an OMCG member is that they consider themselves as the one per cent of motorcyclists that are not law abiding citizens,” police allege in court documents.

Detectives allege Pozzebon also has visible Rebels OMCG tattoos.

Bail objection documents state Dyson’s social media profile was allegedly “proliferated” with Rebels OMCG regalia and “proudly” shows pictures of himself in colours with other members.

The court heard during their bail applications from defence barrister Malcolm Harrison that Pozzebon started the diesel mechanic business in 2019 and employs 15 people. Neither the business, or any other employees, are accused of wrongdoing.

Mr Harrison said Pozzebon was responsible for $220,000 per year in rent and $20,000 in wages per week.

According to his profile on the AFD website, which was scrubbed from the page following reporting of Pozzebon’s arrest, the 27-year-old started his diesel fitting career in 2012 before he opened the business seven years later.

“Ever since, he has been working relentlessly on the growth of the business,” his profile stated.

“Nic prides himself on the quality of his crew’s work and their recent expansion into the earth moving and plant hire sector.”

In his profile, Pozzebon said he worked on extending his staff’s knowledge with auto electrics and hydraulics as a focus, as he believed it was the way the industry will progress.

He listed his hobbies as loving to “get out and about on bikes”, bush camping or enjoying a “brew or two”.

An AFD staff member declined to comment when contacted by this publication on Tuesday and asked about the arrests of Pozzebon and Dyson.
