A 23-year-old caught punching cars at a Coast train station clenched her teeth and bit at a police officer’s hand after punching another in the face.

Alicia Diana Gaudry was sentenced to four months in prison on Monday after she pleaded guilty to 10 charges including two counts of assaulting police on October 22.

Police prosecutor Michael Ruddiman said Gaudry was in the change room of the Maroochydore watch house when she lashed out at officers.

Sergeant Ruddiman said Gaudry punched the left side of a female officer’s face before she dropped to the ground and had to be dragged into a cell.

He said police officers were trying to restrain Gaudry’s wrists when the homeless woman bit at the officer’s hand and clenched her teeth.

Sergeant Ruddiman said Gaudry did not latch onto the officer’s hand.

Gaudry had been arrested for public nuisance after she was seen punching cars at Nambour Railway station.

“She (a witness) stated she was in a motor vehicle when a female walked up to a vehicle without any provocation and began punching the car’s windows,” sergeant Ruddiman.

The court heard the woman was also yelling at people as she walked through the Nambour bus transit area.

Police believed the woman was drug affected and found a syringe in her backpack.

Gaudry was also caught yelling at customers at Ocean Street’s Woolworths and forcibly pushed a trolley while talking with police on October 18.

Duty lawyer Rachel Holland said the mother of one started taking drugs as a 14-year-old and has been homeless ever since.

Ms Holland said the woman was diagnosed with autism.

She suggested a prison sentence with an immediate release on parole.

Magistrate Christopher Callaghan said Guadry had been given fines and probation for similar offences in the past and agreed imprisonment was the only appropriate punishment.

Guadry was released on parole for four months.
