Maroochydore man wins $24,000 with Instant Scratch-Its ticket

The Sunshine Coast man received the winning scratchie as a Christmas gift, his only problem is that he doesn’t know who to thank.

A Maroochydore man is unsure who gave him the Instant Scratch-Its ticket for Christmas, but he’s forever grateful after it revealed a $24,000 prize.

The top prize winning $5 24K Gold Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at David Low Way News in Pacific Paradise.

“I got this for Christmas … but I’m not sure who from. It’s a bit of a mystery,” the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said.

“Our family and friends all buy Instant Scratch-Its tickets for each other at Christmas, so I don’t really know who it was.

“I’m feeling pretty lucky really to have been given it.

“I didn’t really believe it when I first scratched it on Christmas Day. I just thought, ‘Wow!’.

“It’s a nice gift. I think that pretty much tops it as far as gifts go.”

The Sunshine Coast resident said he would put the money to good use in the new year.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do with that prize just yet,” he said.

“I’ll probably do something sensible, like save it for the future.

“It’s certainly something I’m looking forward to enjoying in 2022.”
