One of the Sunshine Coast’s leading hospitality businesses has revealed its latest Mediterranean-themed venue set to open in a popular beachside suburb later this week.

The Peregian Beach couple behind Maeva Hospitality, Scott and Kellie Armstrong, are preparing to open their latest venue in Coolum Beach at 13/7-13 Beach Rd, positioned just “steps away from the beach”.

Rosa Italian will be the couple’s first move into the smaller-scale restaurant market after recently opening up the popular and award-winning Bli Bli Hotel.

The new venue replaces Frank Beach Bar and Restaurant.

Ms Armstrong said Rosa Italian would replace the site’s existing Italian restaurant, which had received an extensive interior makeover with a menu to match.

“We’ve given it a huge facelift, we’ve definitely gone with the Mediterranean vibe and just keeping it coastal and local,” Ms Armstrong said.

“Our menu will all be fresh, local seafood and freshly made salads.

“Guests can look forward to a delicious variety of options, from wood-fired pizzas to share plates like arancini with tomato and basil aioli or local prawns with garlic, and hearty mains like pappardelle with wood-roasted lamb. And of course we’ve put together a fantastic drinks menu.”

Mr Armstrong said the success of the Bli Bli Hotel, which recently won three accolades at the 2024 Queensland Hotels Association Awards, had inspired the couple to make the jump into the restaurant market.

“The success we’ve seen with the Bli Bli Hotel has been incredible, and it’s only ignited our passion to continue delivering outstanding venues. With Rosa Italian, we’re bringing a slice of Italy to Coolum Beach, and we’re very excited for everyone to come and experience it,” Mr Armstrong said.

Plenty of locals will recognise the Armstrongs from their other venues the Baringa Tavern, Parklands Tavern, Brightwater Hotel, The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast and Motel Caloundra.

Ms Armstrong said Rosa Italian would open on Wednesday, September 25.
