The mother of missing 28-year-old Edan Huntington fears he may have met with foul play after going missing from Montville on January 18 as she issues a plea for anyone with information.

Edan Huntington, from the Gold Coast, was last seen around 5am on January 18, 2023 driving a dark grey 2010 Ford Territory with NSW licence plates CQG59F down Boongala Ave in Montville.

His mother Delia Harpur said he was staying at a holiday rental house for 10 days with his father.

She said he had been feeling unwell and had called an ambulance.

“His Dad woke up at about 5am and found the ambulance men and the neighbour in the home,” she said.

“But Edan was nowhere to be seen and the neighbour said they had seen him driving off in a hurry about 20 minutes before the ambulance arrived.”

Ms Harpur said it was completely out of character for her son to be out of contact for such a long time and that he had left all his personal belongings at the home.

“The thing is that his phone was off right from the start so it is a real worry, he just drove away and that’s it,” she said.

“No one has seen him since and he’s not familiar with that area in the Sunshine Coast.”

Ms Harpur said there had been no sign of her son, his car had not been scanned on any cameras and there had been no activity on his bank accounts.

“It is a real worry and we’re really getting grim now,” she said.

“Our concern is that he’s had an accident, maybe he’s fallen down a ditch or something in the car and the car has gone out of view from the general public.

“The other concern is some kind of abduction, and I know that sounds strange but that is the only other thing we can think of.

“We are starting to think of foul play as well.”

Palmwoods sergeant Kevin Crowley said Sunshine Coast police had initially kicked off the search.

“We have conducted some inquiries and have looked in all the usual places where people go to disappear but came up with nothing,” he said.

Mr Crowley said the operation was now being managed by police in Broadbeach station.

Ms Harpur said the family was trying to piece together any information that could explain the disappearance.

“It’s terrible, we are absolutely beside ourselves and as each day goes by it’s getting worse and worse,” she said.

“We’re really, really scared. Words can’t describe how upset everyone in his life is, he has so many people who care about him it’s incredible.”
