A child has suffered serious injuries after falling from a popular hiking track in the Glass House Mountains.

Paramedics and fire crews rushed to Mt Ngungun after the primary school-aged girl fell 4m from the track near Fullerton's Rd about 7.40am on Saturday, October 29.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the child had suffered facial, head and arm injuries.

The girl was taken down the mountain using a stretcher and met an RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter which landed at a nearby sports field.

She was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition for treatment.

It’s understood the girl tripped down stairs on the track while walking with her family.
