Firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze that engulfed a home, a granny flat and tin sheds early this morning.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said multiple emergency phone calls were received about 2am today, March 29, about the blaze at a home on McKinnon Dr in Cooroibah.

The first firefighters arrived about 2.20am from Noosa and reported the home and a granny flat were “well involved”, she said.

The spokeswoman said six fire crews were called and there were also multiple tin sheds on fire.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control about 4am and remain at the home this morning.

The Queensland Ambulance Service was also called to the fire and reported there were no patients at the scene.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the fire was being treated as non-suspicious and no one was injured.

This latest blaze follows a horror day for firefighters on the Sunshine Coast yesterday after two homes were destroyed in separate fires.

One fire engulfed a home on Beerwah Pde in Beerwah about 11.20am and firefighters were also called to a Currimundi garage on fire about 8.50am.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service was tasked to more than a dozen structural fires on Thursday “including several where homes were completely destroyed”.

“Thankfully there have been no reports of serious injury as a result,” it posted to Facebook.

“It’s a good reminder for all Queenslanders to be aware of home fire safety and switch off all electrical appliances at the wall if you are about to head away on Easter holidays.”
