A woman accused of attacking a security guard who tried to stop her from stealing a trolley full of Kmart goods will have her matter mentioned in a higher court.

Coco JB Joyce Bishop-Hewitt, 24, has been charged with robbery with actual violence and stealing after allegedly headbutting a Sunshine Plaza security guard on May 7, 2023.

Her matter was mentioned by defence lawyer Luke Bull on February 16. Her appearance was not required.

Mr Bull said the matter had been committed to the District Court and asked for an adjournment.

Ms Bishop-Hewitt is scheduled for a committal mention on March 1.

She was previously granted bail on December 7.

The court heard on a previous occasion Ms Bishop-Hewitt allegedly tried to leave Kmart at the Sunshine Plaza pushing a trolley filled with stolen clothes.

A security guard was called and an argument broke out when Ms Bishop-Hewitt allegedly headbutted the guard twice.

The security guard then walked a short distance, collapsed and stopped breathing, the court was told.

She required CPR and was then rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Ms Bishop-Hewitt was found nearby and arrested.

Ms Bishop-Hewitt has yet to enter any pleas and her bail has been enlarged.
