Footage has emerged online of a car drifting down floodwater ditch on the weekend – with locals saying the sewerage pipe it hit could burst.
The footage shows the car floating down the water filled ditch in Kuluin yesterday before it comes to an abrupt stop when it hits a sewage pipe.
Locals were quick to see the humours side of the footage.
“You can’t park there mate,” Brooke Ashley Miller said.
“Just waiting for a mate,” Jason Fox wrote.
“Hope they didn’t hit a platypus,” Gerry Emery said.
“Not the best place to park,” Nathan Richardson noted.
“Free all day parking in the Far Canal,” Heather McMurray said.
“At least its going the speed limit,” Adrian Linstorm said.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed police were aware of the incident.
“Police were called to Fremantle Place, Kuluin around 7.45am yesterday, April 21, to reports a car had rolled down an embankment in the wet,” she said.
“No one was in the vehicle at the time.
“Police arranged for the car to be towed out.”
