The owners of Ngon Cafe have joined forces with a millionaire couple to bring their authentic Vietnamese food to Mooloolaba, making it their third store.

Max Bui and Mellissa Nguyen already own two successful Ngon Cafe venues on the Sunshine Coast, one at Marcoola that opened in October 2021 and another in Buderim that opened in November 2020.

The business duo’s most recent venture has involved been partnering with a couple who migrated from Vietnam on an Investor Visa after being nominated and sponsored by the Queensland Government.

Tuan Anh Pham and his wife Quynh Hoa Pham travelled around the state to find a place to live and invest before they came across the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Bui said the pair ended up falling in love with the beautiful beaches, hinterland and weather.

“Then they met us and enjoyed our food and had an idea to collaborate with us, to open another Ngon Cafe in Mooloolaba,” Mr Bui said.

“Mr Pham invested more than one million dollars to buy two lots at the Sandcastle Building at Mooloolaba and then invested another $200,000 renovating the stores to become a new Ngon Cafe.”

The Mooloolaba store opened in November and offers customers the same high quality Vietnamese street food but in takeaway form.

Mr Bui said they offer “must-try” dishes for those looking to explore the cuisine including banh mi, pho and rice paper rolls.

“We are so happy when more and more Sunshine Coast residents and travellers know about the true taste of Vietnamese food,” he said.

“I love hearing ‘thank you it’s delicious’ from customers after they tried our food.”

The $200,000 renovations took three months to complete, with Mr Bui thanking builders and tradesmen for their support to finish the job before the school holidays.

Mr Bui said the presence of the Pham couple in the hospitality scene would introduce more investors like them to the Sunshine Coast.
