Residents share disgusting pictures of undrinkable Kingaroy tap water
Videos have surfaced of Kingaroy’s “undrinkable” and “disgusting” tap water as the council confirms why it won’t clear up anytime soon.

A video showing a bathtub being filled with brown and murky tap water has caused outrage across the South Burnett community.

It comes just weeks after in March the council issued a bacteria alert which made the water cloudy and foul smelling.

Multiple residents were urged to boil the town water before drinking it or using it to cook with.
Online creator Kylie Enkellman shared the concerning water video taken at her home at Weiden Street, Kingaroy, sparking an immediate response from the community.
Ms Enkellman said she is grateful her property has tank water.
“I wouldn’t want to be drinking tap water,” Ms Enkellman said.
Kingaroy resident Pip Zanthe said, “you can’t wash a baby in this muck”.
Another Kingaroy resident said his water contained, “black floaters”.
“It's absolutely disgusting,” one resident commented.
“That’s terrible, I think I would rather boil some water and wash out of a bucket,” said another Kingaroy resident.
Ms Enkellman encouraged residents to contact the council, who swiftly responded to her report.
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesman said they were unaware of any other residences being affected as there has only been one customer request submitted.
“Discoloured water is mostly caused by iron and manganese however recent main breaks in nearby streets could cause this as well,” a spokesman said.
“Council is currently using the normal water sources, however from May 7 to May 21 council will be 100 per cent Gordonbrook water while maintenance is being done on the Sunwater Tarong pipeline.
“Council is expecting increases in discoloured water while on 100 per cent Gordonbrook due to the nature of this source water.”
