South Burnett man facing 25 charges, child sexual abuse and drugs

A 38-year-old Queensland man remanded in custody on multiple allegations of child abuse has been slapped with another 19 horrific charges.

A 38-year-old man who was remanded in custody on charges of child sexual abuse in January has been hit with 19 fresh charges, including rape and using the internet to lure children.

The Runnymede man has been charged with seven counts of engaging in penile intercourse with a child under 16, 10 counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, one count of rape and one count of using the internet to procure children under 16.

In January 2025, he was charged with one count of engaging in penile intercourse with a child under 16, two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, and one count each of buying or possessing S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, possessing utensils or pipes that had been used, and possessing dangerous drugs.

The man had his case heard in Kingaroy Magistrate Count on Friday, February 21, 2025.

He did not appear as he had been remanded in custody, and was represented by his lawyer Mark Werner.

He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates court on February 24 via video link to enter a plea on some charges.

The remaining counts will be heard at a committal hearing to determine if the case will be moved to the district court.
