South Burnett drug blitz: 4 charged after cops find 18 plants, marijuana stashes

A police crackdown on drug production and possession in the South Burnett region has ended with residents slapped with charges and ordered to face the magistrate.

A police crackdown on drug producers and users in the South Burnett region has seen four residents slapped with charges and ordered to face court.

Officers raided a Brocklehurst Road address in Wattle Camp at 8am on Tuesday where they uncovered five marijuana plants, dried marijuana and drug utensils.

A 38-year-old Wattle Camp man was charged with producing and possession dangerous drugs, and possessing drug utensils. He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 25.

Just 25 minutes late police found three more small plants, dried marijuana and utensils at a Walsh Road property in Runnymede.

A 29-year-old man is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on October 14, charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing drug utensils.

A 67-year-old man accepted drug diversion after police found a clip sealed bag of marijuana at a Saddle Tree Creek Road address in Wengenville at 9.15am.

At 10am police searched a Pitts road address in South Nanango where they allegedly found 10 marijuana plants, a small amount of dried marijuana and utensils.

The 70-year-old man is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on October 14 charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils.
